This letter shows we gave the Coroner information in 2001 about what happened to Alison and they agreed it would have a significant impact on her state of mind. Cumbria Police never contacted the Coroner and did not present this information to the Crown Prosecution Service.

Alison had changed her name from Bell to St James as part of her efforts to reinvent herself.
